This merchant is on the Velen side of the Border Post and right across the road from the shady merchant. Unlike the shady merchant though, this merchant sells some basic alchemy ingredients. He will not show up until rescued from the Person(s) in distress marker southeast of the Border Post and north of the Hanged Man's Tree.

• According to an unsent letter found by his cage, he is actually Nilfgaardian and speaks little Common.
• The cage key needed to free him can be a bit hard to get if the quest A Deadly Plot is started.

Bugs

• This merchant isn't always marked with an icon on the map.
• Upon being interacted with, he might be "cloned" with a second, slightly different character model (beside the first, who just keeps doing his ambient animation), and is prone to the impossible to trade bug.
