Savolla was an ambitious, yet insane, mage working for the Salamandra. With an enthralled frightener, Savolla played a vital role in the Salamandra's attack on the School of the Wolf.[1]
Biography
Attack on Kaer Morhen
In May 1270, Savolla accompanied Azar Javed and the Professor during the attack on Kaer Morhen. Savolla was powerful enough to control a frightener. He used it during the assault to batter down the main gate; afterward, he used it to destroy a section of the wall in the inner courtyard, which later became known as "Savolla's Breach".[2] He attempted to contact Azar Javed telepathically but was blocked by Triss, so Savolla scrambled the connection.[1] While the witchers dealt with the frightener, he entered the keep.
If Geralt didn't fight the frightener: Inside, Savolla was confronted by Geralt, Triss, and Leo. While Triss hurried to the laboratory, Savolla engaged Geralt in combat, using energy he had drained from some of his own men. Despite this, he was defeated and killed by the witcher.[1]
