Basim was the king of the merpeople living off the coast of Bremervoord, Princess Sh'eenaz's father.

Biography

When he was younger, Basim had been in love with Melusina. However, after discovering she was infertile and unable to produce an heir, Basim ended up marrying her sister, Dahut, instead. The couple eventually welcomed a daughter, Sh'eenaz.

Basim and his wife strive to care for and protect all the creatures of the sea and their sea-dwelling subjects, which puts them at odds with the invading human kingdom of Bremervoord. Though conflict looms, Sh'eenaz fell in love with Prince Agloval. Though the king and queen disagree with their daughter marrying a human, they do not want to wage war against the surface.
