witcher

Looters is the name given to three unmarked quests in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Along the highways and byways of war-torn Velen, expect to encounter clusters of peasants, usually six in number (sometimes with two on horseback), looting the corpses of the fallen. They are hostile, so avoid or engage them.

The XP earned based on the Story and Swords! difficulty level rewarded in this quest is unaffected by the ±5 level constraint and difficulty level.

Looters I

Woodland Gang: The wooded path east of Heatherton, and northeast of the Wolven Glade. Expect five infantry, and three horsemen. You can interact with them and ask them what they're doing, which will engage a fight, if you do so, killing the looters will gain you 10 XP earned based on the Story and Swords! difficulty level.

Looters II

This group can be found at Codgers' Quarry. Approaching with your weapons out will make them hostile when you get close enough. However, if you approach with your weapons sheathed, they'll engage in an initially gruff manner no matter how you answer until four alghouls appear and they'll suddenly need your help. Killing off the necrophages will gain you 10 XP earned based on the Story and Swords! difficulty level and the peasants will be friendly towards you.

In a chest right by the mine entrance, you can find Stoneworker's notes, which are technically part of the quest, but don't do anything.

Note: if you ignore this group and pass through, after some time has passed you can return to find them all dead except one. In this case, the lone survivor will be hostile.

Looters III

At the village of Toderas you'll overhear two groups arguing over who gets to loot the bodies. Apparently they both had a hand in killing off the remaining residents but want all the loot for their own group. You can approach them and they'll tell you to go away. You can either:
