The timeline documents important dates and events in the Witcher series, with the dates in human calendar are counted from the "Revival" (mentioned in Season of Storms) or the "Resurrectionem" (mentioned in Crossroads of Ravens).
In writing, the notations are written with a lower case "p" and upper case "R", such as "1215 post Resurrectionem" and "1 July 1245 p.R." However, it's yet to be seen how "before Revival/Resurrectionem" is written.
For easier viewing and separation of canon/non-canon this page has been split into 4 sections. Only the main page is considered canon, the others are non-canon (like the games, Netflix show, and other adaptations).
Ciri's year of birth is somewhat inconsistent across the books although Sapkowski has confirmed in a Reddit AMA that she was born in 1253. See Ciri#Ciri's age for further details.
Prehistory to 240s BR
- Five million years before the 13th century p.R. humans would come into existence in another world, evolving from apes

- Due to demand from militaries and kings for superhumans that could become the next evolution of humanity, an elite group of Sorcerers called the Circle set out to achieve their wishes. They tried many different theories but before they could put the mutagen theory into practice one sorcerer, potentially Alzur, stole all the material and fled to the old citadel Mirabel at the foot of Trannberg. There the first witchers would be created.
- The renegade sorcerer responsible for stealing the Witcher formula would die under shadowy circumstances.

Despite support from ally Kaedwen, the war ends with Kovir's victory and the First Treaty of Lan Exeter is signed.

- Lara Dorren gives birth to Riannon before Lara dies from exhaustion. Riannon is adopted by the Redanian Queen, Cerro.

- Radovid III dies as the last Redanian king to bear the title of King of Kovir and Poviss. Kovir and Redania are officially separate from each other.

- Aedirn conquers Dol Blathanna
- Falka's Rebellion takes place
- Vridank, Cerro, Heltmult, and Denhard are murdered by Falka
- Falka becomes pregnant
- Falka captures Princess Riannon (who's pregnant with twins) and imprisons her in Houtborg. The two give birth around the same time and the three babies become known as the Houtborg triplets.

- On Goidemar's orders, Roger Kameny is subjected to torture and torn apart by horses. This incident prompts the Temerian nobility to rebel which is suppressed by the intervention of Cidarian forces led by King Liam.
- Less than a year later, Amavet's illegitimate children, twins Muriel and Crispin, are born
- Riannon dies, struck by the death of two of her children
- Goidemar marries Liam's daughter, Adda of Cidaris, and the couple soon welcomes a son, Cedric.

- Archeologists from the University of Castel Graupian discover Dandelion's lost first writings of Half a Century of Poetry in Beauclair. Estimations from professor Schliemann correctly place the manuscript as a 13th century relic, belonging to the Dark Ages.
- 15 year old Ciri visits the future of her world while escaping the Wild Hunt with Ihuarraquax. Wandering around what seems to be a petrol-smelling asphalt road and a garbage dump, she is disgusted and after learning from the unicorn that this is her world, she is horrified and hopes it is the distant past, not the future that awaits.
- Approximately 3 000 years after Nimue and Condwiramurs' work, the world's unstable orbit reaches maximum and prompts the ice age, known as the White Frost from Ithlinne's prophecy. The epoch is said to end with the "New Sun" and rebirth of the world.
