Mioni[1] is a young woman introduced in The Witcher 4 reveal trailer.
Biography
Mioni lives in Stromford, a small village that sacrifices young girls like herself in the hopes of keeping an evil at bay that lives in the nearby woods. To the villagers, this is considered tradition, and as such many don't appear to be aware it's a monster that causes their problems.
During one such period, Mioni is unfortunately chosen to be the sacrifice. She goes through a ritualistic ceremony and says goodbye to her father before heading into the woods. However, she's unaware that a witcher, Ciri, is also there, and secretly uses Mioni as bait to sing the song that'll awaken the monster in the forest. After Mioni does so, Ciri makes her presence known before sending Mioni back to the village before she fights the monster.
However, her own townspeople are so set in their traditions, that when their intended sacrifice returns from the woods alive, she's subsequently killed by them instead while her father cries over her body.
Notes
- In the trailer breakdown, Director Sebastian Kalemba implies there's a possibility she can be saved in the game, though as indicated in past games, there are always consequences to everything.
