Gascaden was a witcher trainee at the same time as Geralt and Clovis.

Biography

Gascaden was out training one day with Geralt and Clovis under the supervision of Osbert. One of their exercises was to attempt to throw Osbert off his horse while he resisted. Gascaden was the first to attempt it. He failed and was left bloodied after being struck by Osbert with a cane. After Geralt succeeded in throwing Osbert off his horse, he tended to Gascaden's wounds while they waited for their replacement tutor.

Later, they were sentenced by the witcher council for drinking elixirs unsupervised and fighting. As punishment, they had to stand on stone pillars for two days and nights. He and Clovis collapsed to the ground after the time was up.

All three completed their training together and received their swords, herbs, and medallions.

• Although he appeared only in the Polish TV series The Hexer, Gascaden is also mentioned by Geralt in the Netflix's The Witcher series as one of the deceased witchers, alongside Sorel, another character created for the Polish series.
